mom is having surgery right now

she is having a lump removed from her back, on her shoulder where it flexes. Two dr.'s had told her it's no big deal, but when she went to see a surgeon 2 1/2 years later, he was like "ack, why is that thing still on there?" So, it's about the size of my fist now and it's coming off today, hopefully. She had a glitch with the paperwork this morning but should be in surgery now. The last test they did several years ago said it wasn't cancer but since then it has started to grow rapidly and hurt so, while they don't think it's cancer, they say it's  lot more invasive than normal and they are taking it off in the hospital under anesthesia, and they wouldn't say how long it would take.

I'll be praying that all goes well with your Mom today, and for alll the days that she will be healing and doing physical therapy.

I'm hoping by now that she's resting comfortably after a successful surgery, it was indeed a benign growth, and that they were able to remove it smoothly and easily.

I hope you're calm and happy with the results, and will be giving us updates on how your Mom is doing.

thanks to all! She just got home, and is doing ok. She will get the results back in a week or so, but the dr.'s didn't really mention anything about it being anything other than benign so that's good. You can tell that a lot was cut out, I'm happy it's gone. :)
