Hi, I am 28 yrs old, and at this point my dr has no idea whats wrong with me. Next step is an EEG this month then i will talk to a neurologist after that. Where to even start.... ok, i was normal no medical issues at all, then i start losing my vision and my face and hands go numb pretty well at the same time, that happenes several times a day, i almost felt like i was drunk, and i was going to pass out, plus i have no energy for ANYTHING. Then it got to the point that i would start blacking out while driving my car, then the blackouts started happeneing more often, i have been losing my balance alot lately, be walking and next thing i know i leaning against the wall or falling over nothing at all. It is to the point i can not drive, due to many close calls on wrecking. So far i have had a ctscan, mri, glucose test and thyroid test plus lots of blood taken to b tested. So far it has all came back normal, yet this is not normal for me. My mom was at work talking to her friend about it and he said that us what he goes through to a T and he has ms. But he also said he just was diagnosed with it a frw yrs ago in jos 40's. I need some advice. I have 3 young kids that depend on me, and i cant do much for them when i am like this. This has lasted for the past 3 months and i am scared really, just the thought of not knowing what is wrong and the dr saying nothing is wrong, does not make me feel good insode. Please help me!!
Some of what you describe sounds MSish, some does not.
Balance issues and fatigue are in the realm of MS symptoms. Blacking out and numbness that comes and goes not so much. MS mumbness tends to be on one side or the other and tends to stick around for extended periods of time, days/weeks rather than hours.
There are also different kinds of visual issues associated with MS. Some are optical and caused by inflammation of the optic nerve. Others, such as nystagmus, are caused by damage to the nerves that control eye movement. You said that you lose your vision. Can you be more specific?
At this point I think seeing a neurologist is the right thing to do. You should see one that specializes in MS if possible. You should be prepared for more MRI's, blood tests and in necessay a lumbar puncture.
Finding the cause of seemingly random symptoms can be a long and frustrating process. Be persisten, but patient :-)
