Tess, I am not sure if I am understanding but MS does not show in the lumber spine. It shows on the cervical and thoratic spine.
And age for being dxed with MS? This board has many that were dxed in their 50's and 60's, Like you, I had symptoms but put it off to other things. Sure wish I hadn't.
Best of luck getting answers.
Hi tess and welcome back. how is life on the Emerald Isles?
I know you asked about the scan in the other question you posted but let me repeat here - the dexa scan is used to check bone density. It would have nothing to do with diagnosing MS.
If your doctor is thinking you have osteoarthritis you would want to have the scan done to check on your bone strength. If it is showing signs of thinning, the doctor should put you on drugs to help with that problem.
I have no idea what he might have meant that some people only get MS once. MS is forever - if you have it, it won't go away. Could he have said some people only have one attack of MS and then it gets quiet?
Of course you're confused when the doctor is telling you these things which make no sense.
good luck,
Lulu
