hi, im 14 years old, male and have active and sporty lifestyle. Recently, i have noticed that my legs seem shaky and weak (only when i use them) and they are quite bad going down stairs. also, when i tense my back and bend over, my muscles shake. I asked my mum and dad but they don't seemed worried - just growing pains etc... I am a worrier but am not sure what this could be. Any suggestions?
Hi James,
Sometimes if you worry a lot it can cause anxiety which could make you feel a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys shaky. Also I wounder if maybe you have over done the excersise??? This can make your legs feel shaky .
The other thing worth mentioning is are you eating regularly?? If it has been a while since you ate and your blood sugar level is low, that can make you feel shaky too.
If you are really concerned then I think it would be a good idea to get mum to take you to your DR for a check up , just to make sure and give you peace of mind.
thank - you for coming back to me, emm.. i do worry a lot. I was just wondering - everytime i move my muscles from up to down e.g - i lift my arm and then slowly let it down it will shake a lot. This is the case for my back and legs. Going down stairs can also be quite hard. I don't think i developed this over a long time but could it over the space of a week, suddenly affect my shoulders shoulders intensive treatment Shoulder arthroscopy Shoulder pain, legs and back? I know i worry a lot but thanks for the re - assurence.
Hi James,
Nice name - its what we named our son, but he is now a lot older than you- he is 34. ! :-)
Mistylee has given you some good tips. If I were you, I would wait a week or two and see if the problem gets better on its own. If it does not get better, than talk to your mum about getting an appointment to see a doctor.
ML is right, that sometimes when we think we have a problem and then we worry about it a lot, it seems to get worse instead of better. While you are waiting, can you find other things to occupy your time and do some activities that keep you from thinking about this muscle weaknessWeakness?
I hope this goes away on its own - let us know if we can be of any more help to you.
