need help for pain in feet please

Hi,
I am still waiting for all my results with the new neuro but I really need help tonight with pain,

this has been an on and off thing for year now in my feet. I seems like spurs in my heels but it is not. I had what I discribe as cememt legs that I was dragging along.Which in turn I believe caused knee pain then heal pain.

went to a foot surgon as my (GP is a number one FREAK)in Dec he was very good, he said RA and wanted to give me the steriods I can not take them pill form super sensitive and makes me extremely moody depressed to the point of crazy thoughts! So he injected cortizone in my ankles (Yes it hurt like heck) but... my foot pain then  knee pain got better then my legs. It seems to me I must have been walking funny to compensate for the legs now. Any how it helped for about 2 weeks and Today it is Back with a furry!!! My heels are in extreme pain, knees I think my thighs are ok so far but any ideas to find relief NOW. I really can't walk tip toe a little and of course it is the weekend!

I have inserts in my shoes got good shoes when this started doubled up all my carpet due to pain, have a couple of hydro's for pain and they are not touching it and I am a wieny 1/2 hydro helps me so any thoughts??

Also still waiting to see what they say is wrong this time, MS or Fibro is all that I think is left to give me or both..DO you feel like this if so what is your dx or are you in limbo like me???.

THanks so much I can't WAit to hear from you all!
Mary

The Provigil was a help for me for the fatigue.  My cognitive issues have also improved.  I'm not 100%, but it helps, somewhat.  I've never been able to work up to the full dose because I think it's interacting with my beta blocker that I take for high blood pressure.

Maybe someone will chime in about Lyrica that have actually taken it.  I think it's a drug that is best work up to for full dose and can cause sleepiness/drowsiness.

Hi,
THanks Oh at least I am not alone!!! many here with feet pain and see I thought it was not connected!
Well freezing them sounds cold but I will try it.  Your all right nothing really seems to work not even being off of them!!! and then this will pass in either a day or 2 or a month or 3!!!

MRI and doc.... I get all my results Tuesday the nurses are hinting at fibro I need to go to the Hosp tomorrow and get the written report on the MRI. Maybe my doc is a lesion counter or maybe they saw nothing and I just see spots on my photos that are what...???? When I asked him as he was testing my legs (nerve test) if he had the report he said " ya it's normal". I don't want MS don't want anyone to have it but my gosh I know I am so sick have been for so long crazy but I want to see something and not be misdx'd again.... it's like what will they pick on Tuesday? Hey maybe deminta? hum hadn't thought about that it fits the Cognitive symtom!!! LOL sort of
He is also the doc that said after my history and intial appt he hinted it was MS and "not to worry" He was good to me that day so  patientice eh?

I just finished my tests this morning the Envoked Potential was today, gosh I hate that flashing light, any light the light from my clock in my room the red light on the DVR etc... but well see!

Thanks all sleepy Oh would love to hear more about Lycria if someone can email me or all of you scared they will start that and I haven't heard much on it??? The nurse said the neuro only uses that for pain and provental (sp) for the fatigue so I THINK that may happen tuesday but I have tons of questions.

If I get brave enough to pick up the MRI report will post tomorrow pm.
sweat dreams all

Mary, I have also heard that wearing those "Crocs" I believe they are called...the clumpy looking sandal type shoe filled with holes and are every color of the rainbow.  They apparently are very easy on your feet.

Worth a try I guess!

Hi Mary!

Yeah, right now my feet are killing me!  This symptom seams to come and go for me.  I worked 2 days in a row on my feet all day and now I cannot walk without pain.  I am on a strong antiinflammatory called Cataflam and it seamed to help a little bit but not much.  Just bending my knees and putting my feet flat on my bed hurts them.

I wish I had more answers for you!!
Hang in there!

I just got up to date on your posts and I'm so sorry to hear that you've not gotten any answers as to why you have the spots showing up on your MRI and are having pain like this.

Yes, sometimes I have a tremendous amount of pain in my feet.  I always have some kind of pain, but there are some days that makes it nearly impossible for me to walk (between the pain and my balance issues).

I was given some sample Lyrica pills, but to be honest with you, I'm not going to try them until school is out for the summer.  I can't be trying to teach and be a zombie.  So, I've not found anything that works for this--even staying off my feet won't get rid of the problem.  Shoe inserts have not worked, but the type of shoe I wear may help a little bit. You may want to find some extra comfy shoes with thick soles to wear during the day time.

This has been a real issue for me, and I feel for you.  I have to either hold on to something or to my husband when walking to my bedroom at night or when I get up in the mornings.  I've taken some falls, too, because of it.

What did your neuro say about the spots on your MRI?

((((((HUGS)))))))

Hi Mary...I haven't been able to talk to you in a while and I am sorry that you are going through this pain.  I have nerve pain in my heels and it feels as times as though there is a lightening bolt stabbing in the bottom of one heel or the other and it is excrutiating!

I don't know if this is similar to your pain but to be honest I have not really found anything but occasionally when it's really bad, I roll a frozen bottle of water under my foot back and forth until the pain subsides...

I am not sure if I am just freezing the foot or if it really is doing any good but when it's really bad it's the only thing that gives the slightest relief and not every time.

I wish you luck with your pain sweetie and I hope you find some relief!

Lots of hugs,

Rena
