nuivigil -copay assistance

We have had many discussion about Provigil vs Nuvigil -
I just received an email with the offer from Nuvigil for 7 days free and a prescription card that will cover the co-pay (up to $50) for many people.  Though it probably has the usual exclusion of rx's filled with govt. programs.

I thought this was worth sharing.  You should find the link off their home page at nuvigil . c o m - take the spaces out, of course!

be well, stay alert!

I've heard that the generic provigil isn't half what provigil is........but have filled out the paperwork for provigil, just haven't heard back from them yet, for assistance.

The MRI Institute in conjunction with the MSAA (multiple sclerosis association of america) should be able to help you. 1-800-532-7667, ext. 120,126. I don't know if that's the MSAA phone number or the MRI Institute. Also, the doctor's office/billing manager should be able to guide you. I have gotten lots of guidance from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society 1-800-344-4867 or 800-242-3358. They are quite good at guiding you along the way.

Lulu has shared with us before that the MSAA - Multiple Sclerosis Association of America - helps with some MRI costs.  Although I believe there's is limited to diagnostic level imaging, they may well be able to point you toward so good resources for follow-up imaging.  I believe you can find them at msassociation.org.

Good luck to you!  Any chance you can see a more reasonable neuro who will begin treatment based on history and then see you quickly for follow-up?  I'm so sorry you've had this break in your treatment and hope you can get things going again soon.

does ANYBODY know about any possible assistance with copays for MRIs???? My doctor will NOT even see me until I get ANOTHER one done and they want my copay (over $520) right up front!  I just DONT have that kind of money laying around.  I need to see my doc and get back on some MS meds, so I am just trapped!!!  I feel myself getting weaker daily, and now I am numb on my left side.  I dont want to end up crippled!  Any help will be soooooo greatly appreciated!!!!

Lulu,

Remember the program I told you about - where Nuvigil offered not a week - but a whole month of Nuvigil absolutely free (no copay) if you would just agree to send in your comments about the experience.  Well, that time period has passed.

I didn't try it because actually it is best to wait about 7 years before trying a new drug since that's how long it usually takes for adverse effect information to be fully compiled and processed from the "guinea-pig-patients" who start taking a new drug from day one. But actually, as you have mentioned, Nuvigil may not really be a "new" drug but a slightly rehashed Provigil in the hopes of keeping the price high.

I'm finding that so many of these drugs have special offers on their websites to help cover the copay cost.  Big Pharma definitely wants us using their pills....

If you have a name brand drug you are using, be sure to look at their websites to see what special offers might be going on.

I just started Restasis last week and they have all sorts of incentives/rebates to use their eyedrops.

With the cost of everything rising, and rising we have to be smart and take advantage of these deals when they are out there.

my best,
L

I am taking nuvigil now, i may have said that already but I can't really tell a big difference.
It may be the gabapintin, it makes me sleepy during the day.  And then I had the lack of sleep issues.

thanks, meg
