numbness in fingers on left hand

I am on crestor tablets for high colestrol; and have stafted getting tingles and numbness in my small and next finger on my left hand why is thisor has it got anything to do with the heart. i am a smoker and am over weight also.

Hi, there.  this isn't really the best place to ask your question.  We deal mostly with MS.  The numbness you are describing can be from many things.  The sensation in those fingers are handled by the ulnar nerve.  This is same as the "funny bone" nerve on the outside of your elbow.

These can become numb from something as simple as leaning on your left forearm on the desk chair or on the egde of a table.

It could occasionally be a part of carpal tunnel syndrome.

Yes, one of the bad effects of using a statin is a neuropathy, but I would exam how you might rest the left forearm first and try changing that.

This would not typically be a symptom of heart problems.
