off balance

i have been off work for 6 months and the drs still dont know what it is..
basicaaly i started occasionally feeling really off balnace as though i was going to either pass out or fall over.
also when i walked or stood still what ever i looked at was just kind of swaying the feeling you get when your a bit tipsy.
scared to go out or on my own incase it happens.
if i go into a shop the isles seem to close in. and if i stand and turn my head to side or move eyes too quick i get the same feeling,.  when im sat im ok.
had mri. saw neurlogist. .... nothing  not labrynthitis as im not spinning..... now could be something about lower part of brain that does off balance and what i have , but dont know what its called... waiting for eeg....  anyone else have this   ......

I don't have a ton of experience with balance issues--have only had a few, and few episodes of some major vertigo--but there are several different possible explanations. Some other folks on here have been worked up for dizziness, balance, vertigo, etc., so maybe they can chime in here.

Hi Keyani and  welcome to the MS forum here. I hope you will find lots of useful information here, as well as a very compassinate community.    It is miserable to be off balance like you describe.

Are you diagnosed with MS or has the doctor mentioned this as a possiblity?  Balance problems are very common with MS.  I am assuming that the doctor has sent you to an ENT doctor to be evaluated.

If you read more about MS you will see that this is  can be a very difficult disease to diagnose.  It may take a while for the evidence of damage to become apparent in your tests.

Hang in there and don't let the doctors give up in finding the answer for you.

feel better,
Lulu
