optical visit

My optomatrist has patience of gold.

We started of with a little chart that had three seperate squares and in these squares had 4 grey and white circles resembling the target store symbol.Out of each box there was to be one circle that was to be raised.Well I flunked that.i have no clue what that test was for.

Then we proceeded to the eye chart,he ask me to read the 4th line out of 5.I told him heck there was 10.My double vision just had to act up.So he had to do individual lines. They were still doubled but it was a little easier to do.

My vision has been deteriating its now 20/70 right eye but 20/200 in left.My tracking skills are really bad.And that I have the beginning of steroid induced cateracts, but he said it was very minimal.

The good thing is that the optical nerves have been healing thats a plus. Now off to a neuro-opthomologist in 2 weeks.

My optomatrist doesn't take either one of my insurances any more,I planned on using my current frames anyway, but he only charged me half price on my lens and office visit. That was really generous of him.

There are compassionate DRs out there.

I think my neuro scheduled them like that because he's concerned about me driving with the leg braces, the fatigue and the vision. He was actually shocked I was driving, eye Dr ask me the same thing to day if I was still driving.

Geeze single mother two teenagers, someones gotta drive.

Yes, Abby's paws are huge I get both of them in the face every morning, plus puppy kisses, her way of waking me.

Get some sleep I'm heade there my eyes are killing me tonight.

Your optometrist really sounds like a keeper!!  Good to hear that your optic nerve is healing!

I wish you the best at your MRI tomorrow!!  Wow!  I can't imagine doing all 3 at once!!!   I'd definitely have to be sedated for that!

Good luck and take care!  Pat :)

Wow all three at once!!! I don't envy you there, but as you said then they are all done. They must have caught you in a rare weak moment. I sure hope it goes okay for you.

Zilla is right in saying that you are encouraging and you seem so upbeat even when we know things are going rough for you. You are truly amazing.

Your pup sounds really cute but she sounds like she is going to be quite large. Needs to grow into her paws eh?lol

Well I just wanted to wish you well tomorrow and now I need to go to bed. 5:30 comes awful quick in the morning and I'm doing my fun wonky dance tonight. So, hopefully sleep comes to me or I'll be wearing my tassles in the morning. haha

yes the eye Dr is a very caring DR.Can't wait to get my new lenses,I'm blind as a bat with the ones I have.

Moki,I named the pup Abby, she's very loving but huge and growing quickly, she's already half the size of my 4 year old newfie. She's fun to have around.

Zilla, its been a rough year, but what the heck I managed and I have renewed energy thanks to provigil,I'm not sleeping half my days away now.I get a little more done each day.

I don't know if I handled everything as well as I should have.letting stress get me but hey that was yesterday.

It's taking one day at a time and seeing that everything has a positive out come regardless. Its like putting it in a bubble at let it fly away,

Tomorrow I have updated MRI's, doing all 3 ,brain,c-spine and thoracic. Why in the hae-dae I agreed to that I'll never know, must of been one of my stupid moments.Normally they don't do all 3 together. But they'll be done for the year.

Hey, T!
What a wonderful guy.  Sounds like he really took good care of you.  Just what you need this year.  Are you feeling like you have survived everything well?  I think about all that's happened to you, and you always sound great and encouraging to se.  I don't know how you do it.

Keep on keepin' on, Sister!

Love,

Zilla*

I'm so glad you have such a caring optomatrist. I fully understand what it means to have concerns with your eyes. I'm going on Thursday to get mine checked as the vision is still off on the left eye. Its 2 months now and not clearing and has now moved more into my central vision. I know its not blood as I did go to my normal optomatrist to get that checked so I know it's not my existing eye problem. I'm hoping to get answers. The only thing not checked yet is optic neuritis.

I hope you get somewhere with the neuro-opthomologist and that he can help you out. I will sure be praying for you. Hopefully he will be as caring as your optomatrist.

How is your puppy, named her yet? You might have already said but I may have missed it.

Thinking of you

Moki
