over a decade of periodic symptoms in right lateral hip

hello,
I am 30 yrs old and have been experiencing periodic episodes at night when trying to sleep involving numbness and tingling of my right lateral hip. at 19 I noticed that it only occured when i was sleeping on my rt side and  I would simply reposition my body to releive this sensation. Later on i noticed and increase in numbness and even a tingling sensation that would occur when lying on either side. this continued through my twenties and I wrote it off because it didnt really cause me that much discomfort and wasnt interfering with my ability to physically function. more recently Ive noticed that I will occasionally experience this sensation during the day weather I am walking, sitting exercising etc. recently I have noticed this area over my rt hip to become itchy after one of these episodes although this symptom might be associated with restrictive clothing such as jeans. this morning, 4/2/11 the symptoms were more severe causing me to get out of bed at 5:45am on a work-free saturday. Ive been searching the web for answers to this problematic question and Dx of Bursitis, spinal stenosis, sciatic dysfunction and bulging disks have roused my attention. then I landed on the MS posts and I am considering this possibility now. any thoughts, knowledge or personal experience would be helpfull.

Welcome. Did you visit an MD for this? My thoughts are that this doesn't sound like MS though the search engines for MS will hit on the tingling and numbness along w/a whole world of potential causes.

Sorry you've found no relief after some time of trying. Do you have a regular MD?
