pain pain and more pain

I am in a whole bunch of pain.  Upper arms, legs and feet.  I am on tramadol and flexoril for the pain.  The more I do the more pain I have.  Oh geesh.  Is there ever an end to the pain?  I am hoping to be on some sort of DMD Monday with a firm diagnosis.  Something is definitely wrong, just hope for an answer.  Here's hoping I do not have to bear this for the rest of my life.

I have a tendancy to react badly to the sleep drugs.  My throat slowly closes with constant use of Ambien.  I am only on 50 mgs of Trazadone.  I am on so many meds now that it only takes a bit to tip me over into sleep.

If this pain is not ms, I can only hope that

My PCP just gave me trazadone last month to take for sleep, too. I'm not sure it works better than the Lunesta but as she pointed out it is much less costly.  She gave me an rx to take one or two a night - what dosage are you on?

What you are experiencing sounds dreadful.  I'm sorry you are in such pain.

Yes, I will do that, thanks.  I am also on 600 mgs of Neurontin nightly.  And the pain does get so severe that it is the pain that distracts.  It's as if I reach a threshold and keel over what I cannot stand.  I find it hard to keep on my feet or get out of a chair.  My mind goes numb.  I just want to go to sleep.  I did find a solution for my annular tears (seat belt injury.)  I just have to put the lidoderm patch in the right spot, and those spots seem mighty small and easy to miss.  So at least I can go to sleep.

I tell people I circumvent pain by not moving, but I think most of us can guess that that can lead to more pain from not using the darn muscles.  I now have trazadone which helps me go to sleep - a crappy antidepressant that is a wonderful sleep aid.  And I am building up a dosage of lamictal.

Man o man - what happened to superwoman?  I used to be so strong,

crwriter- we have glitches in the system that can cause multiple posts. your entries have been cleaned up.  :-)

Alex is so right about the distration.  I am so sorry you are dealing with this.  The drugs you mention are not used for neuropathic pain - they are great for muscular skeletal stuff.  She is also making the important point that the dmd's do not control symtoms, such as pain.

Are you seeing the doctor on Monday?  Be sure to talk about the pain and how it is interfering with your life.

good luck with the dx.

I hear you about the pain. Just understand the DMDs do not treat symptoms they slow progression. I am on anti seizures for nerve pain and muscle relaxants for muscle spasms. They have to play with different drugs for symptoms. I also do self hypnosis. Distraction is important to me. Pain is worse in my down time because I am focused on it more.
