I have ms and the bottom of my feet are always stiff, and have that pins and needles feeling all the time .  Is it normal for someone with ms to have that feeling all the time?

Hi Shell,
I notice my feet feel tight and always have that needing cream/lotion feeling, which does give me temporary relief.    But I've not associated that with the MS.  I don't have the pins and needles though.

Perhaps you are having an MS related symptom with this  - its hard to tell since each case of MS is s o different from the next.

I often stretch the bottoms of my feet by kneeling on my mat, placing my hands in front of my knees and turning my toes under and leaning back onto my feet for a count of six breaths (1 complete inhale and exhale).  Then I turn my toes so they face back and rest on my knees and tops of my feet, again for six breaths.  You can start with just two or three breaths and work up.

I find stretching helps with my many paresthesias - if anything to get my mind onto something else!

I have pins and needles in my feet too, but at the moment I am going through a severe realapse.  I find that moving them around is good - ankle movements etc. and also massaging them.  It seems to help me.

Walking helps the circulation. My feet feel asleep. I notice it more when resting. I drive people nuts in meetings because I move my feet and hands all the time.

I have that feeling too. I feel like a plastic baby doll when I first get up, it takes a good ten steps to get the feet and ankles moving.  I never thought at 38 my body would be giving up on me.

Hi

I get pins and needles in hands, feet and strangely enough in my tongue.  Kids think I''m weird.  Does anyone else get this in their tongue?

I have pins/needles sensation that affect both feet.  Also, I have a tight sensation - like someone has wrapped my feet with duct tape (don't know how else to describe it)  Nothing really helps it is constant.  Hands are affected also as well as the side/trunk of my body.

Never the tongue.

Seems that it is quite normal for most people to experience pins and needles but how often is individual to each of us. At the moment I seem to have mild pins and needles most of the time down my left side and particularly in my foot and it this tingly feeling is releived when I take my Gabapentin...which reminds me..my next dose is due now!
