I am 33 y/o and had a baby 2 months ago. I started to have tingling of my R foot 2 weeks ago. The symptoms progressed into tingling and pins and needles of my R hand fingers or one finger (it could be any). The interesting thing is that no symptom has lasted for longer than 24 hours. I get tingling of one toe R or L but mainly R foot and then 10-15 minutes after I get tingling of one of my fingers mainly on the R but also on the left. Then nothing for 15 minutes and then weird feeling of my R foot "heavy". No numbness or weakness. I feel the symptoms mainly when I put pressure on the extremity but not significant pressure however. No gait disturbances or vision problems. Also, at night when I lay down I get burning sensation of the lateral aspect of my L foot and then after like 15 minutes I get burning of the dorsal aspect of my R foot
I think this is likely MS however I was not aware that the symptoms could be this transitory in such short periods of time.
Have you seen such presentation for MS? What else could it be?
Thanks

Thank you for your responses. I did not have a difficult labor. No family members with MS.    Some of the sensory symptoms do occur in the same spots but most do not. Something thst does occur daily but goes away is a feeling of R leg heaviness, no weakness.
Since I know that the symptoms can be triggered wiyh heat, I have been avoiding heat and taking warm showers only. The first symptom did appear after a hot shower.
I also have burning sensations of my scalp and feet. The feet burning is worse at night.
Some of the tingling appears when I place pressure on the nerves such as crossing my legs or using the computer and they resolve when the pressure is relieved.

Thank you

Hi, welcome to the forum!  Do these sensations occur in the same spots every day.  Do they recur during the day, even though they don't last long every time they show up?

In general, the frequent moving around from limb to limb sounds less like MS.
But, I'd like to hear more about  how the symptoms last.  Also, what effect, if any, does getting overheated have on these sensations?

My symptoms also appeared after childbirth.  I had a baby 7 months ago and mine started with burning sensation across the incision following the leg line.  I had 14 hours of back labor and a c-section.

Did you have a difficult labor?  Did you bring this up with your ob/gyn?

Usually MS has a persistant numbness and vision problem. Do you have any family members with MS? It could be possibly that you could of pinched a nerve or pulled a muscle. If you want to find out for sure and have insurance, an MRI would be a good place to start. Keep us posted
