sun rash

by wyfrog, May 21, 2008 12:11PM
Hey,
I decided to go to a tanning bed because I hate heat and thought this would be a fast way to tan without the heat.  I broke out in a sore red rash on my upper thighs only.  I was only in the tanning bed 5 minutes.  Has anyone had this happen?  Thanks for any input.

I've found over the last few years that I will get a sore raised red rash on the back of my calves when I'm out in the sun walking around in shorts.  At first I thought it was from sitting on grass (which I'm allergic to) then getting too much sun, but it happened again several times after that.

Some medications can make you more sun sensitive.  I took a low dose of an antidepressant for pain, and the sun through my car window would make me get a red rash on the left side of my face while I was driving.

Sometimes tanning beds have problems with lights, and can give you more rays in certain areas.

I hope your rash disappears quickly!
