support for multiple sclerosis patient.

I live in vero Beach and have a difficult time not communicating with others that have ms.  I would like to know if anyone with ms knows of a support group in the treasure coast of florida preferably near vero.  I would also like to know if there is anyone who wants to talk with me so that I may feel less isolated with my mulitple sclerosis.  I attend another 12 step meeting but its not the same.  I need others to relate to.  thank you for any feedback!  Rebb8

thanks Lulu for the response.  I will do some further investigating through the NMSS.  I would really love to start my own group but I dont even know where to start.  In the meantime I will check out the meeting in Port St Lucie and see where else others go in my area.

thank you so much for the information.  I do live relaatively close to Pt St Lucie and I will defiinitely check the support group out.  I will also do some further investigating once I get to the support group to see where others go for support. Rebecca

Hi Rebb,
I too live in Florida (central florida area). You can either go on the nms web site and type in your area or even call your local hospital or neuro's offices and see if they know of any groups in your area.

If not....then maybe you can be the light for others in your area and start one up.

Take Care,
~Tonya

Hi Rebb, I wish I lived in Vero Beach and we could start our own personal support group, but alas, I live in Ohio.  I had a great-uncle and aunt who lived in Vero Beach and I loved the rustic feel of that area. That was 40 years ago, before VG grew up and Disney moved in! :-)

We are a great group here and will be available here to chat and answer questions.  Have you contacted the NMSS and asked about support groups?    Maybe you will have to start one yourself and grow it from there.

We have a few FL members here too - maybe they will know of something down your way.

welcome to the forum here!

be well,
Lulu
