syrinx and ms connection? with constant dizziness

hello, was wondering on other peoples thoughts regards my MRI  findings...im a 37 yr old female,im a nurse but neurology is such a wide subject that i only know the basics...for 2 years i have had constant dizziness which is worse on head movement, and balance problems, back and neck pain and my left leg is sleepy. and hand weakness and pins n needles in hands .problems with my ears have been ruled out..my MRI findings are, syrinx on c6/c7 cervical spine. with slight swelling of the cord on that site  also minor relative decrease in the height of c4-5 c5-6 c6-7 and c7=di vertebrae, these are associated  with minimal posterior disc bulge intending THECA no root nerve compromise notedand a small cyst on my pituitary gland in my brain,  any help explaing these findings a bit more would be great,,also 2 years of dizziness is driving me mad,no brain lesions so the thoughts of  MS have been ruled out, ear problems have been ruled out, would a small syrinx cause dizziness? and a cyst in the brain?.im taking propranolol tablets for the dizziness, the tablets have made the dizziness less violent but i still live  every day being off balance and dizzy....thoughts anyone??  can a syrinx cause constent dizziness? is there a connection with ms and a syrinx?

Radiologist have been know to mistake Spinal MS Lesions for a Syrinx.  It is best to have a neurosurgical consult and let a neurosurgeon read the study.  I have heard of a few cases where neurosurgeons and neuroradiologists have re-read syrinx images and determined  that they were demyelinating lesions.

MS is rare. Syringomyelia is much rarer.

I probably look at Wikipedia too much, but here's the link:

Hi...there is a connection btwn chiari and a syrinx and the symptoms of chiari r often times mistaken for MS...do have someone review ur Brain MRI and get a cervical MRI if u didn't already to see if u might have chiari.....

Chiari is the malformation of the skull, and this causes the cerebral tonsils to herniate which causes a CSF blockage, the blockage cause a syrinx to form also known as syringomyelia.

We do have a chiari/syringomyelia forum here on MedHelp-http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Chiari-Malformation/show/257?camp=msc&personal_page_id=862904.

I am not saying u do not have MS- just saying chiari is a possibility...we do have a few that have had both chiari and MS.

Good luck and I hope u stop by the chiari forum.
