this is a very strange question.......sorry!

I'm new to this but I can't find any info on any of the Med sites, so this is kinda my last resort......
I keep having this strange feeling like water dripped on my ahem....butt cheek or I sat in water or something, its a cold running feeling that only lasts maybe 2-3 seconds, it started a few weeks ago and was just at random times but in the past week its happening more often and honestly I'm tired of checking to see if I sat in water or something.
Now I have had 3 back surgeries and the last one my neuro-surgeon cut my spinal cord, that was 15yrs ago and I didnt have any problems after my 3 weeks in bed for it to heal, of course my neuro-surgeon retired within a year of his mess up so I can't even ask him if that could be a factor in my current problem.
Anyone else have this weird feeling? I need some advice cause I'm going crazy not being able to get or find any answers......

Hi and welcome,

I agree with everyone and i'd definitely be considering paresthesias, you've got a history of spinal issues so my first thought, is that this is more likely related to your spine and it's probably time to get an updated assessement.

Cheers.........JJ

Nerve damage will definitely cause paresthesias like that -  hot, cold, pinprick pains, buzzing, tingling, skin crawling...

Sadly, I too, can relate to your post. :) Just below the left cheek/top of back of the thigh. Mine was transient though. A few hours here and there and mostly in cold weather. Go figure.

Kept thinking I must have wet myself and actually had several occasions that I went to bathroom to check to see if my pants were dry and they always were.

Not sure if it is related to my MS or not but it does seem to be a form of paresthesia. Definitely worth mentioning to your doc.

Hi there. Have to say this site shouldn't be your last resort, but your first! We've got lots of knowledgeable people here :-)

Actually, a feeling of wet--cold or hot--is pretty common with MS, as is the feeling of water running down one's leg.  This is what's known as a paresthesia, and is caused by faulty nerve conduction. Do you have any other symptoms, and have you mentioned this to a doctor?

I'm not at all saying you have MS. Nothing is that simple, is it? But still, if you haven't seen a doctor lately, maybe it's time. Years ago I had what felt like a cold wet patch on my behind, and like you I was constantly checking. That lasted several months off and on. I did also have other abnormal things happening, though.
