tired

I am new to this site and still trying to figure it all out.  So many symptoms yet no real answers.  I have seen so many Drs in the last four months.  I was dx with fibromyalgia about five years ago however the symptoms look more like MS.  It has gotten better this last month, but for the last four months I have had numbness in all four extremities(come and go) tingling in my extremities( finger tips are the worst), horrible burning sensation on the tops of my hands, face, neck, muscles are contracting and I feel old.  I'm so tired all the time.  I have become very weak.  If I go outside my muscles feel like their going to explode and my arms and legs feel extremely heavy.  Yet I become dizzy and sick to my stomach if I stay in the shower too long.  I feel like someone is poking me with a pin here and there.  My primary, cardio, and pulmonologist all say neuro, my neuro says not enough evidence with the MRI/MRA.  Results were:  a few small ovoid areas of increased subcortial and deep white matter increased T2 signal, right cranial nerve V11 and V111 compression????  I am lost.

I have just read your post and can see many symtoms that others have on this site.
Fibro/MS have some simular problems the burning I really understand and the heavyness you describe I can have from time to time.

The problem is that MS takes alond time to Dx its a waiting game to watch and see our it progresses.

I hope you find some answers soon to figure out which one of these autoimmun deseases you have.

Take care tarter

Dear lost,
welcome to the forum here.  I see you are my neighbor to the north - I hope the cold and the snow aren't bothering you too much.

It is always possible to have more than one disease going on here - you may have fibro AND MS.  Like your ologists have said - your symptoms do sound neurological.

The fact that your neuro has hedged the bets with not enough MRI evidence infuriates all of us here.  Not such a long time ago, about 20 years or so, MRI technology did not exist to check for lesions.  The diagnosis was made exclusively through clinical observation.  The neuro had to use the skills of observation and listening to the patient. for some reason that has been lost and now they rely so heavily on the MRI evidence instead.

Now that you have found us, I hope you will come through often to learn more, to question and to even rant when you get angry and frustrated with this process.

my best,
Lulu
