vitamin b12

Just wanted to say Hi to all and let you know that after 2 months on vitamin b12, the overwhelming weakness in my legs is GONE after 6 years! The heat is not even making me feel weak! I am amazed and hopeful that this is indeed the main answer for my ms symptoms. I guess time will tell. If this is the result of my Mayo Clinic visit(they told me the b12 was not the total answer to my prob even tho they couldn't tell me what it was) then it was way worth it. Don't know why the other labs that constantly tested me for b12 deficiency did not show it. Makes me wonder why Mayo lab is so much better?? They only found the three Obands too and the other lab did it two other times and found 12!
Go figure~

So hoping that all of you are doing well! Praying for you!

It is good to hear from you too! I don't mind telling you so here goes:
My level was 171
They prescribed 1000 a day high quality sublingual
I haven't had it tested again and will be doing that in the next month. They told me to test it again in 3 months.

I am happy that it is not injections.

I had a very bad fall and have had an infected wound on my leg that they have been treating so havne't felt great for a few weeks. I was happy that I didn't damage my two replacement hips that are ceramic!

Hope you are feeling well. I will keep in touch!
hugs to all,
Cynde

I have been wondering how you were doing!  So glad to hear that you are having some relief!  I am curious like Julie about what your B12 levels started at, your injections etc - if you don't mind sharing.

My b12 is in the "normal" range - but on the low side - and I have often wondered if I would benefit from b12.

Hugs to you!

That is really, really good news.  I am amazed that you got so much relief in just 2 months.  How often did you have injections?  What did your B12 levels start out at and where are they now, if you don't mind sharing that information.

Again, wow, this is really hopeful.  But, like the Mayo said, it may not be the only problem going on as something had to cause your levels to get low in the first place.

I agree with why the Mayo test picked that up and other labs didn't.  Maybe more sensitive?  My last B12 that was check by my PCP was like 2200, when normal is between 200-1100.  Then just a few weeks later the NIH checked as part of that study I was in and it was 390.  Hmmm....is all I can say.

Best of luck to you and keep moving in forward with no pain.

Julie
