what is considered a lesion?

On my MRI results, I was told I had a 5mm area of white brain matter that was nonspecific in the left lateral ventricle peritial lobe that is not considered a lesion and they mentioned something about demylenization and that it may be migraine related.

So if it is not a lesion then what is it???

Thanks for researching that for me, none of that stuff seems to fit for me as I don't smoke, drink, have high blood pressure and so on and so forth....i guess i will just wait to see what the neurologist tells me :-)

I just googled nonspecific white matter and one of the early hits brought me right back to medhelp, but on the neurology forum from 1999 - here's the link

I hope this explanation helps,
