I don't know if my question got posted. If it did sorry for asking again. I has MRI it showed several small nonspecific foci of abnormal T2 signal changes in the deep white matter. Is that around the brain stem and cerebellum? Thanks
The 'Impression' at the bottom of my MRI Report states
Three subcentimeter nonspecific foci T2 lengthening in the white matter; this is nonspecific, the differential includes multiple sclerosis with other etiologies not excluded'
What does this mean?
Thanks!
huh?? I apperar to be stuttereing........
Foci -(plural of focus) - more than one spot
Focal alterations - localized spots of changes in the tissue appearance
Foci of Increased signal - spots or small areas of bright spots
T2 FLAIR - you have to go to the thread I wrote on "How MRI's How MS Lseions" I bumped it tothe front midway down I answer (sort of the difference) between T1, T2 and T2 FLAIR images.

I just re looked at my brain mri......my pictures loop but I see many white spots.....I found under one of the pictures it said ax T2 Flair.......Now what is this? It wasn't mentioned in the MRI.
My report says "focal alterations", "foci" and "focal area". I've understood that terminology to indicate areas of signal intensity during the MRI sequences, i.e. "lesions". But, I'm not an expert :).
I have 2 "focal alterations" in my MRI ~ one is a "focal area" and one is a "foci". Maybe it indicates size??
I'm sure our experts here can further clarify this for us! LOL!!!
Wish I could help you........I have 3 foci on my report, I have no idea what they are.....where is your foci? Mine are on my Frontal lobe. When I look at my MRI I see white spots too........maybe someone will tell us lol
