Can I still have MD if my blood test came back normal?

I have a very extensive family history of Muscular Dystrophy including my mother and I have been experiencing a lot of leg weakness and some numbness on the top of my feet lately.  For example I can't get up a step in a pool if there is no handle bar.  I went to see a Neurologist and he sent me for a blood test and scheduled me for an EMG.  I got a phone call today that my blood test was normal.  Can I still have MD if my blood test came back normal?  EMG is not scheduled until next Thursday.  I'm going a little crazy!!  HELP!!!!

I have a form of distal muscular dystrophy and I dont have the enzyme or marker in my blood to prove that in a blood test. Confirmation of my diagnosis was only found by muscle biopsy.
