antisynthetase syndrome

Has anyone or their family member been diagnosed with Antisynthetase syndrome? If yes, what were your treatments?

Hi!
Since Antisynthetase syndrome is an autoimmune disorder, steroids are the first treatments of choice. Corticosteroids are effective in achieving remission and delay relapse. Another therapy is cyclophosphamide administered as a monthly pulse therapy. In patients who cannot take steroids, other drugs such as azathioprine, methotrexate and cyclosporine have been tried with variable success rates. In steroid resistant cases immunoglobulin administration improves symptoms. Of all the treatment options steroids are the safest. Do discuss this with your doctor. Take care!
