Many newborn infants have jaundice, and it is unlikely to be related to the Factor IX administered to the mother.  Because jaundice can be a result of many different causes, the best thing to do is to have the baby evaluated by a pediatrician if the jaundice is persistent.  Most of the time jaundice in a newborn will clear up on its own, but there are less common causes of jaundice that are a more serious underlying problem.
