big baby

I went to the docter for my normal check up and he said that everythin was fine except the size of my baby. At the time of my ultrasound I was 17 weeks along  and he said that my babys head and abdomin (abdomen) were in 95% range for size. i asked him if he was worried about water on the brain and he said no that inside of my baby's head was normal. he said he wanted to follow up on that with another ultrasound. i went and got my follow up ultrasound and i should have been 21 weeks that day, however the baby measures 21 weeks and 4 days. the sonographer had made a comment about how the baby's head was big, oh and she said he weighed 12 oz, is he just a big baby, or is this something i should worry about.

As long as the ultrasongrapher and your doctor do not see any structural abnormalities, it is unlikely that you need to worry about hydrocephalus (abnormally increased fluid in the brain).  That type of problem is easily seen on ultrasound.

Most likely you will just have a big baby.  It sounds like your doctor is following you very closely, and you should feel reassured if he tells you that the ultrasounds are normal so far.
