is it better to take 4 year old rectal temp

I was wondering when a child has a fever is it better to take temp rectal is it main core of the fever

I heard taking in ampit is less information of  child fever i'm kind of confuse

In a 4 year old child for whom you can keep the thermometer correctly in the armpit, the difference between a rectal temperature and armpit (axillary) temperature is not significant.  The rare exception is if the child has decreased blood flow to the skin (for example from blood loss, or from extreme cold exposure).
