Thanks, I'll try that. It's just that my professor is very specific in how he wants us to cite where we got our information.
If you are working on a paper, try searches on cystic hygroma. That is a very specific type of malformation (not technically vascular in origin), and you should have more luck with that. I am not aware of a particular web site that specializes in vascular malformations in general.
I was thinking more of the AVM, lymphangioma/cystic hygroma, etc. types of malformations. Or even hemangiomas. Most websites have outdated info, saying to just wait and see, and things like that. I am trying to find some in depth information on these malformations to use in a paper. Are there any medical websites with in depth info?
The term "vascular malformation" covers a broad range of blood vessel abnormalities, ranging from benign, self-resolving skin lesions to multiple large blood vessels. The significance of the malformation depends upon multiple factors, including the location, size, number, and type of lesion.
You will probably have better luck finding good information if you type in more specific search terms regarding the vascular malformation. For example, include the location (skin, liver, central nervous system, etc.) and whether or not it was congenital. Generally speaking, web sites that are associated with large medical centers have trustworthy information.
