I am a preoccupatet mom. when my girl wos 2 weeks her grondmother squeeze her breast (becouse of her tender nipples) and the left breast become swollen and redness.
the doctor did a incision. naw she is OK (is 8 month old) but i am preocupatet for the future. this situation can affect problems in the future breast development? have newborne mastitis any relation with cancer breast. please help me to be calm. thank you

You can be reassured that there is no known connection between newborn mastitis and future breast cancer.

Mastitis is usually treated with antibiotics, although inciscion and drainage of an abscess may be indicated under certain circumstances.  You should discuss your concerns about future breast development openly with your pediatrician.
