shadowing around left ventricle

I am currently 28 weeks pregnant. I'm scheduled for another ultrasound later this month. My 19 weeks ultrasound showed shadowing around the babies ( my daughters) left ventricle. I currently moved to another state but travel over 2,000 miles to visit my own doctor. However, she's telling me not to worry but I am freaking out. I have 5 other children and the thought of a 6th with severe problems is overwhelming. Please help, any information is appreciated.

If there is an "echogenic focus" in the left ventricle, these often resolve on their own without any long term problems.  I recommend finding a local expert (pediatric cardiologist) and getting a consultation to have them review exactly what has been seen on your prenatal ultrasounds.  Some specialized centers can do fetal echocardiograms (heart ultrasound) if necessary to get more detailed images.

Thanks,

You've giving me some comfort in knowing that everything isn't as bad as it sounds. IF SOME DOCTORS WOULD GIVE US A LITTLE MORE INFO AND GO THE EXTRA MILE. Patients or society in general could save in health cost. We often get opinions from numerous doctors because we are sent home still unclear of the situation.
