vicodin use during pregnancy

by EmmyJJLove, Nov 06, 2009 04:56PM
my bestfriend is 36 weeks pregnant. she has been taking vicodin since before she found out she was pregnant. she stopped use at 35 weeks, but is very concerned whether or not the baby will be addicted when she is born. i guess my question is, will the baby go thru withdrawl after birth or be addicted if she stopped 5 weeks before the baby is born?

If the baby is born close to term (40 weeks gestational age) and the mother stopped the Vicodin completely at 35 weeks, it is unlikely that the baby will have withdrawal syndromes.
