Neurological problems associated with Epstein Barr Virus

About a year and a half ago I was diagnosed with Epstein Barr Virus
About a year after diagnosis I noticced that I felt numbness in face on one occassion, then I felt it in my arms, especially when riding a bike.  More recently I have had problems with my legs, pinching of nerves, numbness in foot sometimes when using an exercise bike.  When I sleep at night, sometimes I wake and my arm and hands are totally asleep.  My deepest concern is that I am a 26 year old male, healthy for most of my life, and now I am noticing that my muscle mass is decreasing.  The muscles in my legs are barely responding  to weights and exercise, even though the main tissue is strong.  I notice in my arms and chest too, it's like I'm back in highschool, wth less muscle liveliness, I don't have the same vitality and energy at the gym...less staminum.  When using a sit-up machine, I feel the shakes of my body/core muscles sometimes,  I think that this is some sort of neurological sign.
background info:I do have a partial herniated disc from an accident almost 5 years ago; it if hurt my back and neck.  But besides that physical event, I can feel when the virus is moving around my body, even moving around my head.  Just as people can feel the ache of arthritis, I can feel the effects of the virus.  Sometimes it causes a moving tingling feeling on my stomach, and sometimes I have electric like needles/ stabbing inside my stomach by organ areas.  I'm not sure if that is another neurological factor.  Right now I am 5'11 and 210 lbs, looking solid, but I have noticed that my mass is reducing. I do plan on seeing a Neurologist soon, and I will monitor my weight and inform the doc of all this. But I'm wondering if a virus could be one source of my problem.  If the local Neurologist I visit might be able to prescribe something for me, to better protect nerve function and system.

Thanks doctor for your response and I will follow your suggestions carefully.  But is there a possibility of being able to recover lost muscle, and strength, if a local Neurologist can pin point the problem?  I think the problem is all viral, and although I do drink tea, and eat vegetables and fruits, I am concerned that the virus still might damage my neurological system.

But thanks, at least I know that all this isn't in my imagination and that I do need to see a dcotor so that they can better determine the true symptons and causes for my body's dis-  ease.

Dear Friend,
There are few instances seem where there occurs post viral reaction inside the body.
Your case seems to be linked to the same, as virus infection was the initiator.

Opinion of a good neurologist would be required in this case as a good physical examination with sign / symptom analysis can help in the proper diagnosis.
I will not be able to provide with a proper diagnosis as i have not examined you personally.

The main part of the examination is to eliminate the subjective biasing of the symptoms experienced.
Feel fee to discuss further.
Regards
