Are Brain Tumours Hereditary

My husbands mothers has had two brain tumours removed and her daughter has had two removed as well. I know his mother has Neurofibromatosis. My husband has not been diagnosed with any tumours but my concern is could he get brain tumours and most importantly could he still be a carrier of tumours even though he himself has not had one. Could he still pass tumours onto our children one day?

Dear Nics,
Neurofibromatosis is a Genetically inherited disease where principally there is a mutation in the chromosome pattern.
So chances of it being passed to the children can be present.
Hence would request you to opt for genetic advice before planing for children.
Regards.
