Expanded Clivus?????

What causes an expanded Clivus?  Is this a symptom or a Dx?

Dear Isvkj1,
Many thanks for posting this question.Clivus, is part of the cranium and is a latin word for "SLOPE".I would avoid getting into the details of the anatomy of this structure as it's a little complicated.
In general the Clivus doesn't expands.So the main reason for expanding Clivus is Tumor(Benigs mainly).Predominant examples are Fibromas,Chordomas,etc.
May i know the reason as why specifically you have asked this question?
MD-CT scan is the best non invasive diagnostic method to know the cause.
Once it's done, and further clarification is required for the diagnosis, Biopsy can be performed.
