Facial pain

Facial pain

My 16 yr old daughter has been experiencing extreme facial pain...only left side.  Pain is in teeth, around ear, jaw, under chin.  We originally thought she was clenching her teeth while sleeping, but I do not understand why it would only cause pain on left side, never the right.  This started end of August during sports conditioning, slowed down in October, and is in full force now.  Pain is so severe she often cries, and Advil does nothing.  Any ideas.  We are lost.
