MRI reading

MRI reading

Hi,
I had a recent MRI & my doctor has sent me to a neurologist. My doctor was very vague and I am trying to find help in the MRI results in layman's terms.

This is what it says

Scattered foci of periventricular and subcortical white matter signal changes in the frontal regions

Differential would include demyelinating process, small vessel, ischemia, vasculitis or migraine among others.

My appointment with the Neurologist is December 10. I am worried about the demyelinating process. How concerned should I be? My doctor tells me not to worry.

My symptoms include, fatigue, urinary incontinence, lightheadness, vertigo, tingling sensations in my feet and hands and my hands have a hard time with doing small manipulations.

Thanks JT

Dear JT4,
"Demyelinating process" is a bit  of concern. There are tons of differential diagnosis for this category.
You definitely need to visit the Neurologist as we need to rule out the following diseases-
1) Multiple Sclerosis
2) Migraine
3) Vasculitis
4) Transverse Myelitis.
5) Vit-B12 deficiency
6) Progressive Sub-cortical Ischemic Demyelination

So please inform us after your meeting with the neurologist.
Regards..
