Nerve damage?

Nerve damage?

Hello.  i've been suffering for over a year with strange symptoms, such as bad quadricep/hamstring pain and tightness after exercise that lasts for a week or more; hip, thigh, and lower leg stiffness often without any cause at all; restless leg syndrome mainly in left leg (was found to be anemic with iron deficiency...am taking iron supplements...has helped a little).  basically, my legs hurt and bother me a lot.  i'm achy from my hips down daily, and it's getting to be debilitating.

neurologist did ncv test.  nerve conduction was fine in lower legs/shin but i had reduced conduction (no bell curve at all) in upper legs/thigh.  what does this mean?  do i have nerve damage?  and from what?  what does this mean? could i have reduced conduction if my sciatic nerve is irritated?

doctor also did the voodoo test.  i heard static in my lower legs when i applied my muscles.  i didn't hear any static in my upper legs.

thanks.

Dear Friend,
Thanks for your multiple posts. I can understand the concern for the symptoms, faced by you.
One thing to tell you in the beginning is that----your nerves don't seem to have some physical obstruction.
They seems to be a little weakened. You would be really  benefited by the nerve supplements which includes (Vit-B12, Lipoic acids,Methylcobal-amine,etc) which will help in providing nutrition to the Myelin sheath of the nerves and thus help you from your symptoms.
Physiotherapy is a good tool for you, to regain the muscle strength as well regaining the  nerves conduction speed.
This would require a good cohesive effort from your neurologist as well as a Physiotherapist.
Also one important thing-----Please don't do activities which require persistent muscle efforts (like sitting in indian style, etc) as your nerves are weak and need time to re-group.
I can understand that i was able to give you some basic answers only for your concerns, i wold be glad if you ask me more specific questions, which i can answer point-wise.
Regards.

btw, i'm female, 32, about 5'5", app 140lbs, have two children (1 c-section, 1 vbac), 50mcg synthroid for hypothyroidism.  i sit at a desk all day.

i'm wondering...the stiffness that i feel, could it actually be nerve inflammation/irritation that i'm mistaking for muscle stiffness?

i'm annoyed and frustrated with everything.  any time i mention the leg/muscle pain to primary or endo, they look at me like i'm nuts.  the neurologist is the only one that ever takes my issues seriously (they discovered that my iron was 4).  they just did the ncv/emg test along with an xray and blood tests.  i won't get results back until aug 19th, but i saw the ncv charts for my left leg.  foot-bell curve at lowest shock level. shin-bell curve at second level.  thigh - she had to raise the shock level to the highest and it was a flat line.  and the report said reduced conduction.  i am concerned.

any help is greatly appreciated.

one more thing.  i sit indian style or with my feet up all day.  can't stand to sit "normal".  could this be causing some of my issues?
