Not sure what to do....

Not sure what to do....

I am 28 and weigh around 250-260lbs. A couple of weeks ago, I got in for my doctorate and the school I got into requres certain vaccines. Menacta, being one of them, I went to the County Health Dept. and got a Menactra shot, with another required vaccine Hep B. As I was coming home, I knew I didn't feel good, but that was a lot of medicine and so I shrugged it off. That night, I woke up red as a beet and not breathing well and sweating. I took some loratadine as I thought I was having an allergic reaction, and it worked. Over the next few days I was hurting with bad headaches, weakness, even missing a meal or two. But again, thought it was the medicine. After about 4 days, the symptoms subsided. About a day later, I got a pain in my upper gute and thought nothing of it...but then on the 21st of October, the top of my foot felt as if it had no feeling in it. No where else, just the top. Then over the course of the next three days, I spread to include my calves and some of the back of my thighs (not as bad there though). I went to my GP as I have been under an extreme amount of stress lately, and thought that is what it was. He took some blood, did a chest x-ray, and then gave me a cortizone shot - which really didn't help.  I have been able to walk, and even can walk on my toes with no problem at all. Although I am still a little dizzy, I must say this is beginning to concern me, it is as if there is no feeling in my calves, yet, I know there is as I can walk around. I have a pretty big lump in my throat and one side of my face doesn't seem to be as quick to respond as the other, yet, my reflexes in my knee and on my arm are ok. What do I do? What could this be? Could this STILL be a reaction to the medication two weeks later?

Dear Friend,
Initial problem can be co-related with allergic reaction.Once you took loratidine, it improved. So much delayed allergic reaction can' be thought about.
I will hope that all of your blood results and X-ray would be normal. You can surely do a nerve conduction study, as it would help us to know whether any nerve problem is present or not (as you have a feel that one side of face is not responding quickly as compared to other). Also, it would be really nice if you can start some brisk walking/jogging.I hope things will settle soon.Keep me informed.
Take care,
Regards
