Teenager with transient blindness.

Teenager with transient blindness.

My 15 yo son has had two episodes of total transient blindness (both eyes), lasting for less then one minute. Each time, he sat down and it cleared.  He has had one episode of partial transient blindness (both eyes)...he immediately bent over to sit down when he noticed it and his vision cleared.
I noticed a confusion after each episode and no exhaustion, but actually feeling better. He is having mental confusion lately...extreme difficulty focusing on schoolwork. He does an online computer school and loves it, yet is having a lot of spaciness. He is frustrated and it is starting to affect him emotionally.
He has had a full eye exam including dilation, clean bill of health for his optic nerve and eyes. Blood pressure and heart rate great. He had iron levels and glucose levels checked...normal.
He has a neurology appointment scheduled.
What questions should we ask? What tests would you recommend?

Dear Susie,
What i could understood was "Sudden Blackouts".
You need to consult the doctor and rule out -
1) Excessive stress.
2) Sleep pattern discussion.

I think if you are able to discuss these 2 issues, then the other problems will be simultaneously addressed.
We really need to know, whether your son is doing too much hard work, causing sleep deprivation, or is stressed up from inside.
You need to have his full confidence, to know more.
However if the doctor is convinced that there is no problem like this, then we will have to do CT scan / MRI scan to rule out mechanical problem.

Regards...
