abnormal MRI no symptoms

abnormal MRI no symptoms

This is about my 19-year-old little sister.  She has whooshing in her left ear and went to an ENT.  The ENT suggested she'd get an MRI.  The MRI showed some abnormalities with the white matter on the left side.  The neurologist said it looked like an MRI of someone with MS, but she is neurologically sound.  Except for the ear, she is fine.  The neurologist suggests further testing, which she will have.  Of course, I am beyond worried.  Can abnormal MRI findings be anything other than MS?  What about ALS or PML (she has no immune issues)?

Dear SueDNum,
I can fully understand your concern about your sister.Well, it would be too early to think about any other diagnosis than MS as the treating doctor is thinking on the same terms. But please  understand that it's just a differential diagnosis. Not fully confirmed till now. Please don't go into other diagnosis like PML or ALS.
Let the blood test be done and than , depending on the results with symptoms and signs, the final diagnosis will be concluded.
If you think too much at this moment, the thinking will become biased and it can cause problem. So relax, pray and wait for the results.
Regards
