genetic?

genetic?

the father of my child has a form of epilepsy that has not really been defined.  he doesnt have full blown siezures. what happens is out of nowhere he will go blank, his face will seize, but he is still able to walk around.  he can hear everything  that people are saying around him but is completely unable to respond.  he can remember everything that happens in this one minute state, like if you show him a picture during a seizure he can tell you what it was when he regains the ability to speak.  he has had this condition since birth, hes taking phenobarbutal, and dexodrine right now but has been on every kind of drug you can imagine and nothing is really doing anything to help him.   i am wondering if you may know what this could be and also wondering if you think it may be genetic or something he could pass on.  He has a son who is perfectly healthy and i am 30 weeks pregnant right now.  Im just kind of worried that the baby may come out with the same problem.

Dear Carriel,
Since the type of the Epilepsy is not know, i won't be able to tell you about the Hereditary factor involved in it.
Also would like you to go for a Psychologist's opinion in his case to rule out any other possibility.
Feel free to ask me more questions for further clarifications
Regards.
