13 yr old daughters head pain

by lbjohnson1j, Mar 05, 2009 01:56PM
My 13 yr old daughter has had very sharp pain on the left side of her head this past week. When that happens she also feels liquid flowing at the top of her mouth although there is none. She had a CT scan and everything came back ok but even with ibuprofen it doesnt help. She gets them periodically through the day lasting only a few minutes each time. The next day she woke up with pressure in her eye and she seems a little fatigue. We have been to emergency and our family doctor and everyone says because the CT scan is normal it may be a bunch of migranes shes getting throughout the day. That seems weird to me because they last just a few minutes. Can someone give me some help on this.?

Hi..sorry ur daughter is going thru this...it is not fun at ne age, but it is the age where she should be out and about having fun.

I know u said her CT was normal, but do u have a copy of the report and the test?....u may want to have a second opinion. What were they looking for when the CT was done?

Y, may I ask did they not do an MRI?

We have health pages( see icon top right of this page) and see the pages on Migraines....if it is not linked to this page...see chiari forum's Health pages I know it is available thru there.
There r many diff types of migraines and it may help to review them to see if they
"fit" ur daughter.

Godspeed
