Hi, these are the side effects related with tegretol intake. Visual hallucinations, transient diplopia, oculomotor disturbances, nystagmus, cortical lens opacities etc. Are you on some other drugs too? Eye related side effects are rare, but do consult the doctor. Visit website http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/tegretol.htm for more information.

been experiencing a visual disturbance in left eye for a couple of months. been on tegretal for over twenty yrs. the disturbance is a shaking in my eye but one which can not be seen by an oberserver. Had a similiar episode for one day last year, went away and nothing until couple months ago. No docs can help. three eye docs to date and all say eyes look fine. I would just like to know what is going on and if there is anyone who has any good info that can help. my three nuero types have been useless.

thank you

Hi

Some of the adverse events reported in patient with tegretol include blurred vision, visual hallucinations, transient diplopia, oculomotor disturbances, nystagmus etc

Your visual disturbances could be due the effect of the medication or due to a eye problem such as refractive errors, cataract, glaucoma etc.

You should consult your doctor about this for diagnosis and management.

Take care and do write in if you need more information.
Regards
