My husband had AVM with subarachnoid hemorrhage. Brain SX to clean it out and clamp off aneurysm. His current Dx states: right parietal encephalomalacia with ex vacuo enlargement of the right occipital horn...prominent supratentorial ventricles suggestive of atrophy. He can answer questions and follow directions & that is all. He is custodial care right now. Will he, in time, recover more functions? Will he ever be able to feed himself or sit up in a wheelchair. I need to know how to care for him. I cannot afford to keep him in a nursing home forever. Pls help. Thx Carol
