10 second headaches

by broncofan, May 29, 2007 12:00AM
I am a 29 year old that has anxiety.  Over the last couple months I have had several episodes where I get a sharp shooting pain in the side of my head that lasts for less than 30 seconds. It feels like I am going to fall down, I get sweaty and start stressing about this and it goes on for hours although the headache was only for a moment.  Could someone please explain what is going on or what this is.  Also could it be linked to the anxiety.

What you are describing sounds like "Ice Pick Headaches" They are a well described type of primary headache usually found in migraine sufferers. They do not usually indicate anything serious. Here is a good link to read about them"

See if they describe what you are feeling.
Let me know, Quix
