17 month old wakes up and can't walk please help

My 17 month old grandbaby woke up this morning and can't walk!!! She's had a ct scan, blood work, urine testing and x-rays and was sent home her mother was told not to let her try to walk,, and now what??? looking for any information to help her young mother ask  the questions to get them to a dr. and answers... It is possible that the child is suffering from muscular dystrophy. Most of the muscular dystrophies are genetic and cause progressive muscle weakness.
Did the child show slowly progressing muscle weakness?
The diagnosis is based on muscle biopsy and DNA test. It is only after complete examination that a diagnosis can be made.
Please consult a pediatric neurologist at your earliest.
