24/7 Chronic Daily Headache Since 1984

I am a 55 y-o female who has been suffering with a non-stop headache for almost 23 yrs. The headache presented itself aprrox. 2 weeks after I received a severe whiplash in a car accident. I have taken every medication, had every diagnostic test, participated in a pain program, had nasal surgery to remove a bone, I had a multitude of trigger point injections wide awake or unconscious, and last but least I had an electrode/wire implanted across my forehead and I controlled the electrical impulses through box. I do not take pain medications because they don't work, although I do take topamax daily which does seem to take the edge off sometimes. Oh, I forgot the series of Botox injections that gave me the smoothest forehead in town but absolutely no effect on my headache. I have been to the emergency room only twice for heavy duty pain shots and that was when I absolutely was unable to function the pain was so bad. I have learned to cope fairly well with my pain but I am so tired of the constant throbbing in the center of my forehead. That is the description of the usual daily headache, but when it takes on that heavy migrainous component my headache is almost unbearable. At these time. I might take an 800 mg prescription Motrin, but not very often. Anyway that is basically my history. What I would like to know is am I a freak of nature or are there others out there with same or similary problems, history, symptoms, etc. as I have. Sometimes I feel so alone. Is there any way to get rid of this headache even though I have had it for almost a quarter of a century? I am so frustrated. Especially after the electrode across my forehead. That was excruciating, but I was so desparate that I was willing to attempt anything, even something that invasive. So please, whatever you can do to give me some hope would be most appreciated. I HAVE EMPATHY FOR YOU, I HAVE HAD A HEADACHE FOR 5  YEARS NOW TRIGGERED BY A MEDICATION EFFEXOR. I ALSO HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING, I HAVE TO USE A DURAGESIC PATCH FENTENYL 50MCG OR I WOULD BE GOING TO ER EVERYDAY. I HAVE POSTED A QUESTION ABOUT A DRUG MYSOLINE. I FEEL THE SAME WAY NO ONE TAKES THIS SERIOUSLY!!! I DON'T WANT TO LIVE THE REST OF MY LIFE LIKE THIS. HAVE YOU TRIED A GOOD CHIROPRACTOR!!! THEY CAN WORK MIRACLES FOR THAT KIND OF INJURY? Thanks for the kind words. I have tried chiropractics several different times. No help. No I have not heard of mysoline. I will ask my doctor about it. Good luck to you too!
