4 Cervial Herniated Disks

by rawlinsmom, Jun 01, 2007 12:00AM
I am a 39 year old mom of 4.  I haven't had any type of accident or injury but am suffering pretty bad pain in my neck and upper back.  I had an mri Wednesday and found out yesterday that I have 4 herniated disks in my Cervial Spine. I am concerned how this could have happened.  My children are 10 yrs old and above so I wouldn't think it could be from carrying a child.  I am not over weight either.  I do have arthritis in my hands, feet and knees.  I had blood work done last week and have not heard the test results from that.  Could it be possible that I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and this is causing my problem?  Is there something else you suggest that I get tested for?  The doctor is suggesting that I have steroid injections and medications for treatments but if there is something causing this problem I feel that I need to find that out too....

Im 38  and had two ruputre disk the doctors told me i han no chocie except surgery because i could go parlyized, i have spianl stenolis which is arturtis in my back so it may that is what causeing your disk to ruputre, the doctors told me that in the future i will have more disk to ruture from this, but im in alot more pain than i was before the surgery, unless there is another option i would suggest not have surgery done as long as you can hold off, sometimes the out come is good but sometimes its not.

I am 38 years old I have had two back surgerys from bulging disks on my lower back which the last they had to shave part of my spine  from my ciontic nerve from my left side. Before my second surgery doctor said do to the length of time waiting for your surgery that my pinched nerve might be permanent and the numbness might or might not go away. My pain is back now and my left leg is going numb.  My problem is I do not have health insurance right now so I have not gone into the doctor.  I am wondering if there is any new procedures or anything you could tell me that does not involve having surgery again.
