A Concerned Parent

by Digging4Answers, Jan 15, 2008 11:01AM
My daughter is 22 yrs old and has been diagnosed with Brain Tumor located in the Frontal Lobe of the Brain (ganlioglioma).  A brain biopsy was performed instead of removing the tumor because of its location.  The tumor benign, itself is about the size of a cherry but was all embeaded in the nerves which could result in poor paralysis if removed.  The neurosurgeon seems to think it could have been there since childhood and just want to leave things alone.  I know that this is a slow growing tumor.  My daughter had "one" seizure when we detected the tumor through CT, EEG, and MRI.  She was attending her first year of Veternarian School and had just graduated from Undergraduate School as "Summa *** Lada".  Since her diagnosis, she has finger tingling and some numbness every 7-10 days, lasting from a few seconds to a few minutes.  I was wondering could the tumor be supressing the nerves or is this some kind of side effects from the biopsy?  She's presently taking Keprra 750 mg twice a day.  I thought about having her blood level tested for possibly to high of a dosage of Keppra since she's only had one seizure which led up to the diagnosis.   Let me know your thoughts.............
