Hi there.

The treatment of APAS outside of pregnancy is still controversial.  Treatment may be clearly indicated if you have symptoms of thrombosis such as deep venous thrombosis of the lower extremities.  However, evidence for the treatment to prevent these events are still not definitive.  Some would recommend chronic prophylactic use of heparin or warfarin to prevent such complications, however, these treatment also carries risks.
