My sister was diagnosed with a large AVM at age 42. After many different options given to her the doctors, they then told her they would only operate and reduce the AVM by laser.
They decided to go in through an artery in her leg and reduce it that way.
She had her first surgery last week, which the doctors felt went very well and planned to go for a further reduction surgery in 6 weeks, however they had discovered an aneurysm which they felt needed to be dealt with first.
This was planned for 1 week after the 1st surgery.
The surgeon intended to deal with the aneurysm first, and if that went well to try and further reduce the AVM.
During surgery the aneurysm ruptured and she hemoraged and is now in intensive care and has not come round yet.
Would her chances of recovery from this be good or bad as the doctors have been very tight lipped so far?
